ニセコはいよいよ冬になりました。国際交流員は、地域のみなさんとの交流を深め、海外の文化を体験してもらうため、12月に「中華風切り絵ワークショップ」を開催しました。中国からの国際交流員ライ・ペイルゥが、世界文化遺産である「剪紙」(jiǎnzhǐ、日本語で「切り絵」)の起源や発展について紹介し、参加者と話し合いながら、「団花」(tuánhuā)といった中華風の切り絵を作りました。大人だけではなく、子どもたちもとても集中して取り組み、多くの立派な作品ができました!みなさんに喜んでもらえて、本当にうれしいです!

Hello! Winter has finally come to Niseko. In December, we held the event “Chinese Paper-cutting Workshop” in order to deepen our ties with the townspeople and give them a chance to experience culture from another country. We introduced the origins and development of paper-cutting called「剪紙」(jiǎnzhǐ、kiri-e in Japanese) which has been designated a World Cultural Heritage practice. The type of paper-cutting we did is the Chinese-style「団花」(tuánhuā). Both the adults and children who participated made some amazing artworks. We’re very happy everyone enjoyed themselves!
