■Thanksgiving
I celebrate Thanksgiving by having a dinner party with my mother’s and father’s side of the family, and a Friendsgiving dinner too, so I am eating a lot during this time of the year.
What makes an American Thanksgiving dinner?
The dinner consists of turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, stuffing, roasted vegetable or green beans, pumpkin pie or pecan pie, marshmallow sweet potatoes.
What is Friendsgiving? Friendsgiving is a gathering of close friends to share the spirit of Thanksgiving.
It is for people who can’t make it home for the holiday because of travel distance, work, weather or health reasons.
Sometimes people choose to spend the holiday with friends instead of the family.
How do you celebrate Thanksgiving?

私は感謝祭を母方と父方の家族と一緒にディナーパーティーをしたり、フレンズギビングディナーをしたりして祝うので、この時期はたくさん食べます。
アメリカの感謝祭のディナーでは何を作るのでしょうか?　七面鳥、マッシュポテト、クランベリーソース、スタッフィング*、ローストした野菜やインゲン、かぼちゃパイやペカンパイ**、マシュマロスイートポテトが食卓に並びます。
フレンズギビングとは何でしょうか?　フレンズギビングは、親しい友人が集まって感謝祭の精神を分かち合うことです。移動距離、仕事、天候、健康上の理由で休暇中に家に帰れない人が対象です。家族ではなく友人と休暇を過ごすことを選ぶ人もいます。
あなたは感謝祭をどのように祝いますか?
*スタッフィング；パン、野菜、ドライフルーツなどを七面鳥のおなかに詰めて焼く料理。七面鳥なしで副菜としていただくこともある。
**ペカンパイ；コーンシロップとペカンナッツで作る甘いパイで、感謝祭やクリスマスなどの祝日によく食べられる。
