Aloha Nakatombetsu! Do you like fall? Fall is my favorite time of year. Although it has　been a wet and rainy start to the fall season,we can enjoy the cool and refreshing nights,instead of the hot and muggy temperatures from summer. I hope to enjoy the fall　season by taking walks with my dog and seeing the fall colors of the trees. How　do you like to enjoy the fall season?
Let’s learn some fall-related and Halloween-ish English phrases!

アロハ、中頓別! 秋は好きですか? 秋は一年の中で一番好きな時期です。
今年は秋に入って雨が降り始めましたが、夏の蒸し暑い気温の代わりに涼しくてさわやかな夜を楽しむことができるようになりました。
愛犬と散歩をしたり、木々の紅葉を見たりして、秋の季節を満喫したいと思います。 秋の季節をどのように楽しみますか?
秋に関連した、またハロウィーン風の英語のフレーズをいくつか学びましょう!

◆To turn over a new leaf ‒ やり直す(直訳：新しい葉っぱを裏返す)
Example： Lately, I haven’t been getting enough exercise. It’s time to turn over a　new leaf and start working out again.
例：最近、運動不足なんだよね…また新鮮な気分で運動し始めよう。

◆To feel under the weather ‒ 具合が悪い
Example： Sorry, I don’t think I can make it to the dinner tonight. I’m feeling a　little under the weather. Maybe next time…
例：ごめんね。ちょっと具合が悪いので、今夜の飲み会に行けないかもしれない。また今度行くね。

◆To drive someone nuts ‒ 誰かをイライラさせる
Example： Please turn down your music! I can hear it through your earphones and　it’s driving me nuts!
例：音楽の音量をちょっと下げてくれない?イヤホンから聞こえるんだけど…もう本当にもう!

◆Night Owl ‒ 夜遅くまで起きるのが好きな人(直訳：夜のフクロウ)
Example： I love staying up late to watch tv, so I guess you could call me a night owl.
例：テレビを見るため、夜遅くまで起きるのが好きなので、夜型人間と呼ばれてもいいかもね。

◆Ghost Town ‒ 活動していない静かな場所
Example： My hometown is a ghost town after 9 pm! There’s nothing really open to go to.
例：地元は21時超えたら、店が全部しまって、どこにも行けないよ。お化けが出そうなぐらい静かになっちゃう。
