■ありがとうございました。またね!
知らなかった人もいると思いますが、私はすでに南房総市を離れ、千葉県国際交流員の職を務めることになりました。
3年前、派遣通知書が届いたとき、「南房総市って…どこ?」と思い、しかもコロナ禍のほぼ始まりのころに赴任してきて、不慣れな場所で生活し、不慣れな仕事をすることに対して不安でした。ですが、この3年弱の間、たくさんの人に会い、考えたこともないことを教えていただき、大切な思い出とかけがえのない体験ができました。
この3年間、お世話になりました。「チーさな島国より」を読んでいただき、私を応援していただき誠に感謝しています。残念ながら、私の次に後任者はいません。国際交流員がいなくても、皆さんが引き続き国際的視野を持ってくださるよう願っています。またいつか、どこかで。

Some may not have realised, but I have already left Minamiboso City and taken up the position of CIR for Chiba Prefecture.
When I received the notice of dispatch three years ago, I did not know where Minamiboso was at all. On top of that, I came during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. I was uneasy about living in an unfamiliar place and doing a job that I was unfamiliar with. However, in the almost three years that I have been here, I have met many people, learnt about many things I would otherwise never have thought about, made indelible memories, and had many irreplaceable experiences.
Thank you for these three years. Thank you for always reading this column and thank you for your support. Unfortunately, there will not be another CIR coming to replace me, but I hope that even without one, you will continue to have an international outlook. See you again somewhere somewhen!
