■卒業おめでとう!
Hi everybody! This past school year, I had so much fun with all my students. I attended my first graduation ceremony at Asagiri JHS. I actually don’t remember my own middle school graduation, but in the US, high school graduation ceremonies are extremely significant. At my high school in Texas, friends and family gather at the football stadium and students sit in chairs on the field. When each students’ name is called, their friends and family make as much noise as possible to show their pride. I will miss my students so much and wish them the best.
To my first graduating class in Japan： CONGRATULATIONS! Thank you for your bright energy and　patience in every lesson. You always worked hard in our lessons whether we were debating in English, learning about culture, or playing review games. Thanks for teaching me Japanese and pop culture during lunch and for always smiling. I hope you all enjoyed learning English and continue to grow and become strong, intelligent, and happy high school students. Don’t forget to have fun, study hard, and be happy.

みなさん、こんにちは!この学年の生徒全員とても楽しかったです。あさぎり中学校で初めて卒業式に参加しました。私が中学生の時の卒業式のことは正直、あまり覚えていないのですが、アメリカの高校の卒業式は非常に有意義なものでした。私の通っていたテキサスの高校では、その日、フットボールスタジアムに生徒と家族が集まって、生徒たちはフィールドに並べられた席に座りました。生徒たち各自の名前が呼ばれると、集まっている友人や家族は誇らしい気持ちをあらん限りに声を上げて表現していました。卒業した生徒たちに会えなくなるのはさみしいですが、みんなの健闘を祈っています。
日本で初めての私の卒業生たちへ：おめでとう!輝かしいエネルギーと毎回の授業での私への辛抱、ありがとう。みなさんは私の授業のなかで英語について論じる時も、文化を学ぶ時も、復習のゲームなどをする時にでも、いつも熱心に取り組んでくれました。日本のポップカルチャーをお昼休みに教えてくれたこと、いつも笑顔を向けてくれたこと、ありがとう。みなさんがこれからも英語を学ぶことを楽しんで、強く、賢く、ハッピーな高校生になることを願っています。楽しむことを忘れず、一生懸命学んで、そして幸せに過ごしてください。
