Hello everyone, how are you doing?
Winter is finally here!
New Zealand is located in the southern hemisphere, and the seasons are the exact opposite of Japan, so it’s already summer there!
In December, school children are looking forward to a long summer vacation. Summer Christmas is the biggest event of the year!
As Christmas approaches, more and more presents are placed under the Christmas tree, and presents from Santa arrive on Christmas Eve.
On Christmas morning, my family opens their presents, and then we have a Christmas BBQ for breakfast.
Relatives and friends gather later in the afternoon. We then have a Christmas lunch of turkey, fresh ham,salad, etc. And of course the Christmas dessert is “Pavlova”. A New Zealand meringue cake covered with cream and fruit such as kiwifruit.
How will you spend Christmas this year? Have a wonderful Christmas!

【日本語訳】こんにちは皆さん、いかがお過ごしですか?いよいよ冬の到来ですね。ニュージーランドは南半球にあり、日本とは季節が真逆で、そこはもう夏!12月、学校の子供たちは長い夏休みを楽しみにしています。一年の一大イベントといえばサマークリスマス!クリスマスが近づくとクリスマスツリーの下にはプレゼントがどんどん置かれ、クリスマスイブにはサンタからのプレゼントも届きます。
そしてクリスマスの朝、家族はそれぞれにプレゼントを開け、その後朝食にBBQをするのが我が家のスタイルです。午後には親戚や友人らが集まり、七面鳥、生ハム、サラダなどのクリスマスランチを用意して迎えます。そしてクリスマスデザートはもちろん「パブロバ」。クリームやキウイフルーツなどのフルーツがたっぷり入ったニュージーランド名物のメレンゲケーキです。今年のクリスマスはどう過ごしますか?素敵なクリスマスを!
