I hope you enjoyed this year’s stunning sakura season! Although the first part of the season was rainy, once the skies cleared up the blooms seemed to emerge all at once in all their glory! I made sure to make the most of the clear weather to walk along the Kii river banks and see the tunnel of cherry blossoms in the early morning light, and lit up beautifully by lantern light at night. Last month you may have also noticed some 3D trick art popping up around town! If you happen to stop by Kyu Kurauchi-tei you can try escaping from a kagura demon, or head over to Metase no Mori to run away along a collapsing suspension bridge. There are two more trick art installations that move locations, so if you spot one around town, see what fun pictures you can take! This month our English picture book reading is on the 18th of May in the Josei Hall at Comare, we hope to see you there! We are also going to run a stall at the Chikujo Marché on the 28th of May, where we will hold a puzzle solving event! Why not come along to the Marché, look around the local goods on offer, and stop by and test out your puzzle solving skills!

みなさんも今年の息をのむような桜の季節を楽しみましたか?築上町の桜シーズンは、今年は雨で始まりましたが、晴れると花が一斉に咲き始めたように感じました!きれいに晴れ渡った城井川沿いを散歩し、朝日を浴びたり、夜にちょうちんのあかりで美しく照らされたりした桜のトンネルを楽しみました。先月、町中に3Dアートが現れたことに気付いた方もいるかもしれません!旧藏内邸に行けば神楽の御先から逃げているような写真が、またメタセの杜に行けば崩れ落ちるつり橋を渡るような写真を撮ることできます。可動式のトリックアートがあと2つありますので、町の中で出くわしたら、ぜひ楽しい写真を撮ってください!今月18日はコマーレの女性ホールで英語絵本の読み聞かせ会があますので、ぜひ遊びに来てください!また、28日のちくじょうマルシェでは、ブースを出店し、なぞときイベントをする予定です!マルシェに足を運んでいただき、地元の商品を見て回ったら、なぞとき力を試しに立ち寄ってください!
