■Gaspé Peninsula(ガスペ半島)

Dear Showa Village residents, I would like to tell you about Gaspé Peninsula in Quebec.
To get there drive along a very scenic view. On one side you have the mountains and on the other you have a beautiful scenery of the peninsula St Lawrence River.
This River then merges with the Labrador currents and finally with the North Atlantic Ocean. In some parts of the peninsula, you can even watch this phenomenon. It takes about 10h to get there by car from Montreal to Gaspé. My family likes going on road trips, so the distance is no problem. We sing, listen to music, eat, play games and the time goes by fast this way. As always, my dog is with us in the car and fortunately he stays very calm when traveling! There are a lot of hiking trails and fun activities to do there. Also, they are very famous for its sea food and so they have Lobster Poutine and Shrimp poutine. I’ll tell you more about poutine on another article.
Here is Percé Rock, an island pierced by a natural arch, is located just offshore of the peninsula’s eastern end. Hope you enjoyed this! Until next time!

昭和村の皆さん、今回はケベック州のガスペ半島についてお話したいと思います。
ガスペ半島を訪れる時は、とても素晴らしい景色を眺めながらドライブします。一方には山があり、もう一方にはセント・ローレンス川半島の美しい風景が広がっています。
この川はラブラドール海流と合流し、最終的に北大西洋と合流します。
半島の一部では、この光景を見ることができます。
モントリオールからガスペ半島までは、車で約10 時間かかりますが、私の家族はドライブ旅行が好きなので、距離は全く気になりません。歌を歌ったり、音楽を聴いたり、食事をしたり、ゲームをしたりしていると、時間はあっという間に過ぎてしまいます。いつも愛犬と一緒なのですが、幸いなことに旅行中とても落ち着いています!
ガスペ半島には、ハイキングコースや楽しいアクティビティもたくさんあります。また、海産物がとても有名なので、ロブスターのプーティン※やエビのプーティンもあります。プーティンについては、また次の記事でご紹介します。
