Hello, it’s Diego!
It feels like much of myself has been formed by the people around me. One example of this is my hobbies. I picked up most of my hobbies from the people around me. I learned how to play chess because it was the one game I could play with my grandfather. I started playing guitar, basketball and frisbee because of my high school friends. It’s the same for skateboarding in college. I picked up bodybuilding and snowboarding from my ALT friends. There are countless other things I picked up by just being around the right people. A neat thing about being an ALT is there are plenty of opportunities to share these hobbies with my students. That’s when these ways to kill time feel the most worthwhile. How about you? Have you shared your hobbies with anyone new recently?

今の自分は、周囲の人々によって作り上げられてきたように感じます。その一つの例が趣味です。私は自分の趣味のほとんどを周りの人達から学びました。チェスを覚えたのは、祖父と一緒にできる唯一のゲームだったためです。ギターやバスケットボール、フリスビーを始めたのも高校の友人の影響でした。大学ではスケートボードを始めました。ボディビルやスノーボードはALTの友達から教わりました。何かに対する情熱を感じさせてくれる人たちと一緒にいることで得たものは数え切れないほどあります。ALTでよかったと思うのは、こうした趣味を児童生徒と共有する機会がたくさんあることです。このような時間の過ごし方が一番有意義に感じられます。あなたはどうですか?最近、新しい人と趣味を分かち合いましたか?
