◇日本の花見!
日本のお花見は、オーストラリア人の私にとっては異国の行事です。先月は梅と、さまざまなピンク色を生み出す桜の花を見て楽しみました!春の訪れを感じ、春が完全にやってきた今、花粉症(アレルギー)の季節でもあります!
お花見には、世界の他のどこにも見られない日本らしさがあり、本当に特別なものです。
この伝統に敬意を表して、晴れた日に友達とピクニックに行きました。お弁当と桜をテーマにしたたくさんのお菓子を買って食べました。美しい桜の木の下に座り、食べたり笑ったりしていると、花びらが髪に落ちてきました!
バイカオウレンや、私がよく知っている菜の花も同じように私の目を引きました!菜の花も美しいのですが、オーストラリアでは菜の花畑はとても一般的で、見渡す限り黄色一色の丘陵地帯を見ることができます!

◇Hanami in Japan !
The tradition of flower viewing(hanami)in Japan is a foreign activity for me as an Australian. This last month I have enjoyed watching the plums and then the sakura flower, creating various shades of pink!
It was the coming of spring and now that spring is fully here so is the hay fever( allergies)!
There is something so Japanese about Hanami that you cannot find anywhere else in the world, it truly is special.
To honour this tradition my friends and I went on a picnic on a sunny day, we bought a bento and many sakura themed snacks to eat. We sat under the beautiful sakura trees, and the petals fell into our hair as we ate and laughed!
Other flowers have caught my eye as well, like baika oren(バイカオウレン) and another one that I am very familiar with is the canola flower! The canola flowers are also beautiful but in Australia canola fields are very common and whole hillsides of yellow can be seen as far as the eye can see!
