Hello everyone!
I hope that everyone is staying warm this winter! 2023 felt like it went by very fast. So much has happened and I can’t believe it’s already my second winter in Hokkaido! Living here is like living in a winter wonderland.
I’m very excited for all of the snow festivals to start soon. Last year my favorite festival was the ice fall festival in Sounkyo. This year I hope to go to many more ice and snow festivals.
Since it’s the new year, it’s fi nally time to think about new year’s resolutions. Last year, my resolution was to be a lot better at understanding and speaking Japanese. I think my Japanese has improved a lot since last year. I can understand about half of what people say to me. So this year, one of my goals is to study and understand even more.
For my main new year’s resolution this year, I think I want to travel and see even more of Japan this year. I hope you all can achieve your new year’s resolutions this year!

皆さんもこの冬を温かくお過ごしでしょうか!2023年はとても早く時が過ぎたように感じました。色々なことが起こりましたが、もう北海道で2回目の冬になるなんて信じられません!ここでの生活は冬のワンダーランドに住んでいるようなものです。もうすぐ開催される雪まつりがとても楽しみです。昨年、私が一番気に入ったお祭りは、層雲峡の氷瀑祭りでした。今年はもっと多くの氷と雪のお祭りへ行きたいと思います。
まもなく新年ということで、新年の抱負を考える時期になってきました。昨年の抱負は、もっと上手に日本語を理解し、話すことでした。
私の日本語は昨年よりかなり上達したと思います。人が言うことの半分ぐらいは理解できるようになりました。なので、今年はもっと勉強して、理解することが私の目標の1つです。
今年の私の主な新年の抱負は、たくさん日本を旅行することです。
