Hello everyone,It may not feel very much like springtime is on the way, but soon we will all be enjoying new leaves andfl owers along with warmer weather! Japan’s seasons are all very distinct, and it has been exciting tolearn about all the different seasonal foods, traditions and scenery to experience since coming to Aibetsu!California, where I live in the United States, does not change very much from season to season, so thishas been a new experience for me since I have lived my whole life in the south!
I have also been able to explore various parts of Japan and see how different it is from the north to thesouth, and I hope to travel more and see as much as I can. Recently, one of my friends from America came to visit, so I went toTokyo to meet her and was able to see the very beginning of spring with her as the plum blossoms are blooming and the cherryblossoms have already started in some areas. It was very beautiful, and I look forward to seeing Hokkaido when the spring fi nallycomes.
I hope everyone is staying warm in these fi nal few weeks of winter!

皆さんこんにちは!
春が近づいているという実感はあまりないかもしれませんが、もうすぐ暖かい気候とともに新しい葉や花を楽しむことができるでしょう。日本の四季はとてもはっきりしていて、愛別町に来てから、四季折々の食べ物や伝統、景色を知ることができ、とても楽しいです。私が育ったカリフォルニアの南部では、季節ごとの変化があまりないため、とても新鮮な経験でした!
また、日本の様々な地域を旅行し、北と南での違いを知ることもできました。今後もできるだけたくさん旅行をし、多くのことを経験していきたいと思います。最近、アメリカから友人が東京に遊びに来たので会いに行きました。東京では、梅の花や桜が咲き始めていて、春の始まりを友人と一緒に感じることができました。とても綺麗で、もうすぐ春が訪れる北海道を見ることができるのが楽しみです。
今年の冬も残りわずかです。皆さん元気に過ごしてください!
