■Happy Lunar New Year!
On this holiday, there are many traditions.
It is the time for family reunions and visiting relatives over the 15-day celebration. These are my favorite Lunar New Year traditions. First, the New Year greetings.
The most popular greetings are 恭喜发财-May you be happy and prosperous, 新年快乐-Happy New Year, and 身体健康-Wish you good health.
Second, the children and unwed adults will receive lucky red envelopes from their relatives.
The red envelopes symbolize good wishes and luck for the new year ahead. Third, girls wear cheongsam or qipao, a high-necked, tight-fitting dress with short sleeve, and a side slit skirt.
Men wear Changsha. Modern days people are simply wearing red clothes.

◇旧正月あけましておめでとう!
旧正月の祝日には多くの伝統があります。15日間のお祝いの間に家族が集まり、親戚を訪問する時期です。これらは私のお気に入りの旧正月の伝統です。まずは新年の挨拶から。最も人気のある挨拶は、「恭喜发财」-あなたが幸せで繁栄しますように、「新年快乐-明けましておめでとうございます」、そして「身体健康-健康をお祈りします」です。次に、子供たちと未婚の成人は親戚から幸運の赤い封筒を受け取ります。赤い封筒は、新年の願いと幸運を象徴しています。3つめに、女の子はチョンサムやチーパオという、半袖のハイネックのぴったりとしたドレスとサイドスリットスカートを着ます。男性はチャンシャーを着ます。現代の人は(こうした中国の伝統衣装ではなく)単に赤い服を身に着けます。

■FUN FACT!
While eating a whole steamed fish represents wealth and prosperity,it might bring bad luck if someone flips the fish over. Do not flip the fish because it means a boat capsizes and loses all its wealth!

◇面白い事実
蒸した魚を丸ごと食べることは富と繁栄を意味しますが、誰かが魚をひっくり返すと不運を招く可能性があります。魚をひっくり返さないでください。ボートが転覆して財産をすべて失うことになるからです。
