■上小はみんな仲良し!英語も頑張っています!
It is almost summertime! In the spring I was very excited to see the cherry blossoms bloom for the first time, they were so beautiful! After a cold winter, seeing the blooming flowers made me so happy.
The new school year has started, and I am still enjoying teaching and learning about Japan at all of my schools. Right now I am working at two elementary schools, Ue Elementary School and Fukada Elementary school. This time I want to talk about Ue Elementary! I am only teaching there once a week, but the students and teachers all make me feel like I am an important part of their school life.
My favorite event that happens at the school is once a term, and students from all classes mix together to play games and get to know each other. I think it is a great way to improve the relationships of the students between classes! I have a lot of fun playing sports during lunch break with students, and teaching the Cosmos Class. We play fun games like Karuta, and once the students designed their own menu and restaurant for me to visit – I was so surprised!
Because all the students are getting more confident with speaking English, I am always excited to see them again and teach them about life in America, too! They always have questions for me after class,and I am so happy that they are interested in hearing my stories and learning the differences between life in America and Japan. Let’s continue to work hard!

すっかり夏のようですね!春、はじめて桜の花が咲くのを見ることができ、とてもうれしかったです。すっごくきれいでした!寒い冬のあと、花々が咲き始めるのをみるとうれしくなります。
新学期が始まりましたが、学校で英語を教えることや日本について学ぶことを変わらず楽しんでいます。私は今、上小学校と深田小学校の2つの小学校で働いています。今回は上小学校のことをお話ししたいと思います。私は週に1日だけ上小学校で英語を教えていますが、生徒たちも先生方もみんなが私のことを学校生活における大切な存在だと感じさせてくれます。
私のお気に入りの学校行事は、学期ごとに全校生徒でゲームを行ったりして親睦を深めるイベントです。各クラスの生徒たちが互いの絆を強めるとても素晴らしい方法だと思います。お昼休みにみんなでスポーツをしたり、コスモスクラスで教えることもとても楽しいです。カルタなどおもしろいゲームもします。ある時は、生徒たちが作ったメニューで私をもてなすレストランを企画してくれました。とっても驚きました!
生徒みんながどんどん自信をもって英語を話すようになっているので、みんなに会ってアメリカの生活について話すことをいつも楽しみにしています。いつもみんなが授業のあとに私に質問をしてくれます。私の話しを聞いたり、アメリカと日本の生活の違いについて学ぶことに関心を示してくれてとてもうれしいです。これからも頑張っていきましょう!
