Autumn in Japan is very beautiful. In my home state of Colorado in the U.S., autumn is all about the aspen tree. This is a white tree grows at high elevations in the Rocky Mountains and has many small round leaves that turn bright yellow in the fall. Aspen trees are sometimes connected by roots, and aspen groves often consist of only a single tree. Because they are the same tree, all the trees in an aspen grove turn yellow at exactly the same time.

【日本語訳】日本の秋はとても美しいです。私の出身、アメリカのコロラド州の秋といえば、アスペンの木です。この白い木はロッキー山脈の標高の高い場所に生育しているし、小さな丸い葉をたくさんつけ、秋には鮮やかな黄色に染まります。アスペンの木は根でつながっていることがあり、アスペンの木立は1本の木で構成されていることが多いです。同じ木なので、アスペンの木立の木はすべてまったく同じ時期に黄色くなります。
