Hello everyone, And Happy New Year! I am happy to celebrate three years of living in Aibetsu this year. In America, it is popular to choose special goals that you want to accomplish for the new year, and I will share some of mine with you now. Even though I have lived in Hokkaido for a while now, I do not know how to ski, so I have been working hard to learn this winter. It is my goal to enjoy skiing this year. I also want to see many beautiful places in Hokkaido this year, and so I will try to travel around and experience all of the beautiful nature that I can. This month, I am going to go to Toyokoro Ice Beach to see the jewelry ice with my boyfriend Justus, who is visiting this month. I am very excited to see it!
Finally, because it is the year of the horse, I will tell you about the horse I owned when I was growing up in the United States. His name is Bugs, and my brother purchased him when my brother was ten and I was five. He was a baby when we first got him, and together we raised him to be an adult as we grew up. We went on many adventures together. Together we explored many forests, fruit orchards and interesting places. We even went swimming together once. I am glad I got to grow up learning how to take care of horses, and happy that Bugs was my childhood pet.

皆さん、こんにちは。そして、新年あけましておめでとうございます!今年で愛別町に住んで3年目を迎えられることを嬉しく思います。アメリカでは、新年に達成したい特別な目標を立てることが一般的です。ここでは、私の目標をいくつか皆さんにご紹介します。北海道にしばらく住んでいますが、まだスキーがうまくできないので、この冬は一生懸命練習しています。今年の目標はスキーを楽しめるようになることです。また、今年は北海道の美しい場所にたくさん訪れたいと思っています。できるだけ自然を満喫するために、あちこち旅行してみるつもりです。今月は、彼氏のジャスタスと一緒に豊頃町の氷の海岸へ行き、「ジュエリーアイス」を見に行きます。とても楽しみです!
最後に、今年は午年なので、私がアメリカで育った頃に飼っていた馬についてお話しします。名前は「バグズ」で、兄が10歳、私が5歳のときに購入しました。最初に迎えたときは子馬で、私たちが成長するのと一緒に大人になるまで育てました。私たちは一緒にたくさんの冒険をしました。森や果樹園、面白い場所を探検し、一度だけ一緒に泳いだこともあります。馬の世話を学びながら育つことができてよかったですし、バグズが私の子どもの頃のペットだったことを嬉しく思います。
