2021年11月から、ALTとして市川町の小中学校で外国語の指導に携わっていただいたビクトリア先生が、7月に任期を終えられ、市川町を離れられました。

After about three years of living and teachingin Ichikawa town, I am so sad to finally be sayinggoodbye. I remember the day I heard I wascoming here, I was wearing a shirt withsunflowers on it, so I knew it was fate. However, Iwas nervous when I first came to Japan, buteveryone in Ichikawa made me feel so welcomeand at home in my time here. I was able to makeso many amazing memories, especially with thestudents of Ichikawa. Not only did they learnfrom me, but I learned so much from them. Ican’t thank everyone enough for this incredibleexperience, and I will take all of the memorieswith me on my next journey. Ichikawa is such abeautiful town with beautiful people. I wish morepeople knew about the charm of it, so I want tocontinue my role with the JET Program by tellingpeople about it as much as I can, and byincluding it in my future art work. While my timein Ichikawa may be coming to an end, I won’tforget the kindness and warmth that Iexperienced here. Thank you for three years.

3年間住み、そして教えてきた市川町と、とうとうお別れすることになりとても悲しいです。私がこの町へ来ることを聞かされたちょうどその時、ひまわりがプリントアウトされたTシャツを着ており、運命を感じたのを覚えています。初めて日本に来るのはとても緊張しましたが、市川町の皆さんはとても歓迎してくれ、慣れ親しむことができました。特に、市川町の学生たちと、たくさんの楽しい思い出を作ることができました。彼らが私から学んだだけではなく、私も彼らからたくさんのことを学びました。伝えきれないほど感謝の気持ちでいっぱいですし、忘れられない思い出がたくさんできました。市川町はとても美しく、人々もすばらしい町です。私は、JETプログラムを通してこの魅力を可能な限り多くの人に伝え、また私自身の今後の仕事にも活かしていきたいと思います。私は市川町を離れますが、ここで経験した優しさや温かさは忘れません。3年間ありがとうございました。
