6月に「バティック・ワークショップ」を開催しました。バティックとは、マレーシアとインドネシアの伝統的なろうけつ染め技法です。
バティックの布では、洋服やポーチ、サンダルなどを作ることができます!今回のワークショップでは、参加者が飾りとして使える小さなバティック布を作りました。
作り方は、最初に、白い布に鉛筆でデザインをなぞります。次に、なぞった部分に熱したロウを塗ります。最後に、布に色を付けて、乾かしてからフォトフレームに入れて、完成です。

In June, the CIRs organised a batik workshop. Batik is a traditional Malaysian and Indonesian textile art technique that uses hot wax to resist dye. The resulting batik cloth can be made in to clothes, pouches or slippers! In the workshop, we made a small piece of batik cloth that participants brought home to use as decor. To make it, we started by tracing a design on white cloth with a pencil. Then, we applied hot wax onto the tracing. After that, we painted on the cloth and dried it before putting them into photo frames to bring home. This workshop will be held again, so be sure to sign up if you are interested!
