In 5th grade, my students have learned how to introduce and explain their favorite part　of Japanese culture to a foreigner. Many people all over the world like Japanese culture –for example, traditional arts, Japanese food, and modern pop culture. In Hawaii, Japanese　culture is seen all over the place. There are Japanese-inspired restaurants that serve sushi　rolls, noodle dishes, and a local take on famous Japanese food, such as Sukiyaki, and other　hot pot cuisines. There are also many traditional sports and arts, like judo and taiko. Manga　and anime are also very popular in Hawaii. There’s even a cosplay event held every year.
Did you know that Japanese culture is also seen in world-famous venues like in musical　theater? In “The Lion King” Broadway musical, Japanese culture can also be seen. The　character of Timon demonstrates the classical Japanese art of Bunraku, Japanese theater　puppetry. Japan fascinates the world with a unique culture. What do you like about　Japanese culture? What would you like to share about Japan with a foreigner?

。ハワイでは日本文化がいたるところで見られます。ロール寿司や麺料理、すき焼きなどの有名な日本料理や郷土料理を提供する日本風のレストランがたくさんあります。柔道や和太鼓など、伝統的なスポーツや芸術もたくさんあります。漫画やアニメもハワイでとても人気があります。毎年、コスプレのイベントも開催されています。
ミュージカルのように世界的に有名な会場でも日本の文化が見られることをご存じでしたか?ブロードウェイミュージカル「ライオンキング」では、日本文化も見られます。「ティモン」というキャラクターは、日本の演劇人形劇、文楽の古典芸術を見せてくれます。日本は独特の文化で世界を魅了します。あなたは日本の文化のどこが好きですか?あなたは外国人と日本について何を共有したいですか?
