Hello everyone.
Summer is fi nally here, and I am having lots of fun exploring Hokkaido! Last year, one thing I did notexpect to see during the summertime was snow, but thatis exactly what I saw when I went to Asahidake for thefestival celebrating the opening of the mountain for hikingseason. Even though it was warm on the ground, by thetime I got to the top of the mountain there was snow all around, and it was nice andcool!
Instead of climbing the mountain, this time I took a trail leading toward NakadakeOnsen and it was very beautiful. I also got to see the alpine flowers blooming inplaces where there was no snow, and they were very cool! I hope to show myfamily Asahidake when they come and visit me this summer along with many otheramazing places in Hokkaido.

ようやく夏の季節が到来し、北海道を旅行することがとても楽しみです。昨年、夏に雪を見ることはないだろうなと思っていましたが、開山を祝うお祭りのため、旭岳に行くと雪が残っていて驚きました。地上は暖かかったのに、山頂に着く頃には雪が積もっていて涼しく、気持ちよかったです!
今年は山に登らず、中岳温泉に向かう登山道を歩きましたが、とても美しかったです。雪のない場所で咲いている高山植物を見ることができ、とても癒されました。この夏、家族が日本を訪れる際は、北海道の多くの素晴らしい場所とともに、旭岳を案内したいと思います。
この暑い時期ですが、皆さんが元気に過ごせることを願っています。もちろん、私を見かけたら、気軽に声をかけてください!
