Hello everyone Shichikashuku!
I hope everyone has been keeping warm as it has been getting colder. In Edmonton, where I’m from, it has already been snowing since October. Which brings us to one of the best Holidays in winter, Christmas. Since I live where it snows for about 5 months, we tend to get tired of snow in February. However, the winter activities are the best, skiing and snowmobiling are common in Alberta. There are a few places I would recommend such as Jasper which has a few mountains to ski, as well as Banff. Banff is a popular vacation destination for Japanese in Canada as well so getting around there shouldn’t be difficult, plus they have hot springs there, just be careful going in winter as it can get really cold! For me Christmas is a special time of year, it is wonderful to get presents for friends and family and share a wonderful day exchanging gifts. Often we eat turkey on christmas which is a big bird found in the US. Another reason I like Christmas is because my birthday is right after, sadly that does not mean I got double the presents. However, the best year was when my brother and I got an Xbox and Game cube for Christmas. I still remember how surprised we were to get both. It is going to be a different year as I haven’t celebrated Christmas without family, so I hope each of you can enjoy Christmas and the New Year Take care and Happy Holidays!

七ヶ宿の皆さんこんにちは!
寒くなってきましたので、皆さんも暖かく過ごしてくれていれば良いなと思っています。私の出身地であるカナダ・アルバータ州のエドモントンでは、10月に雪が降りました。そして、冬の最高の休日のクリスマスがやってきます。
私の出身地は5ヶ月くらい雪が降るので、2月には雪にうんざりしがちですが、冬のスポーツはとても楽しく、アルバータ州ではスキーやスノーモービルを日常的に行います。スキー場がいくつもあるアルバータ州のジャスパーやバンフなどお勧めの観光地がいくつかあります。バンフはカナダでも日本人に人気の旅行先なので移動も難しくありませんし、温泉もありますが冬はとても寒いので注意してください!
私にとってクリスマスは1年の中で特別な時間です。友人や家族にプレゼントをもらったり、プレゼントを交換し合ったりして素敵な1日を共に過ごすことは素晴らしいことです。私たちはクリスマスによく七面鳥を食べます。七面鳥はアメリカで見られる大きな鳥です。クリスマスが好きなもう一つの理由は私の誕生日がすぐ後にあるからです。残念ながら、プレゼントを2倍もらえるわけではありませんが、過去に兄と私がクリスマスにエックスボックスとゲームキューブをもらえた時は最高の年でした。両方をもらえてとても驚いたのを今でも覚えています。家族とクリスマスを過ごさないので、今年はいつもと違う年になると思いますが、皆さんもクリスマスと新年を楽しんでくれれば良いなと思っています。
