私はゴールデンウィークにアメリカを訪れ、家族の友人が私をテスラでドライブに連れて行ってくれました。とても面白い車で、EVと環境について考えさせられました。

アメリカでは車は非常に重要です。車なしでは旅行も日常生活もできないことがよくあります。つまり、アメリカは世界で最も自動車所有率が高い国の一つです。10人あたり9台強の車を持っています。これは、アメリカのほぼすべての家庭が少なくとも1台の車を所有しており、多くの家庭が2台または3台所有していることを意味します。そして車の台数が多いので、アメリカのCO2の29%が交通機関から来ているのも当然です。

日本では、毎日たくさんの人が電車に乗りますが、旅行時にはさらに多くの人が電車に乗ります。このため、日本には人口10人あたり約6台の車しかなく、交通機関によるCO2の割合は19%にすぎません。

将来的には、アメリカでも日本のように電車がもっと増えて、エネルギーが節約できるといいですね。また、軽自動車のような日本のかわいい小さな車が、最終的には電気自動車になることを願っています。結局のところ、私たちは皆、一つの世界を共有しているのです!

Hello everyone,

I visited America over Golden Week, and one of my family friends took me for a drive in their Tesla. It’s a very interesting car, and it made me think about EVs and our　environment.

Cars are very important in America； it is often impossible to travel without a car. So, America has one of the highest car ownership rates in the world. We have a little　over 9 cars for every 10 people. This means that almost every American family has at least 1 car, and many have 2 or 3! That’s a lot of cars, and so it makes sense that　29% of CO2 in America comes from transportation!

It’s a little different in Japan, many people take the train every day, and even more people take the train when traveling! Because of this, Japan has only about 6 cars for every 10 people, and transportation only makes up 19% of CO2.

I hope that in the future, America can have more trains like Japan, so we can save energy. I also hope that the cute little cars in Japan, like Kei Cars, can eventually　become electric. We all share one world after all!
