Hello, it’s Diego!
Last summer, I travelled to all the famous cities in Japan like a tourist. This summer, I travelled all over Tohoku to make unique memories that most regular tourists will never experience. From August 4-7, I went to the Sansa Odori festival in Iwate, the Hanagasa festival in Yamagata, the Kanto festival here in Akita and the Nebuta festival in Aomori. I drove almost 1000 kilometers for 18 hours combined during these four days because I was coming home back to Akita every night. On top of this, I went to Sendai from August 19-20 and saw the Matsushima bay and the Sendai Dai Kannon which means I’ve been to five of the six Tohoku prefectures this summer. Talking about each of these festivals would take a hundred pages so I’ll keep things short by saying that all these diverse regional festivals make Japan such a unique country. Everyday is fun because I’m constantly learning new things by being here.

こんにちは、ディエゴです!
昨年の夏、観光客のように日本中の有名な都市へ旅行しました。今年の夏は、普通の観光客は決して経験できないようなユニークな思い出を作るために、東北中を回りました。8月4日～7日まで、盛岡さんさ踊り、山形の花笠まつり、秋田の竿燈まつり、そして青森のねぶた祭りに行きました。毎晩秋田に帰ったので、この4日間で18時間、1000キロ近く運転しました。その上、8月19日～20日まで仙台に松島や仙台大観音も見に行ったので、この夏は東北6県のうち5県に行けました。それぞれのお祭りについて話すと100ページもかかってしまうので、手短に言うと、このような多様な地域のお祭りがあるからこそ、日本はユニークな国なのだなと実感しました。ここにいることで常に新しいことを学べるので、毎日が楽しいです。
