Alongside flowers, many people will gift something delicious, ranging anywhere from a box of chocolates to a dinner at a fancy restaurant. Last year, my family took my mother to a burger diner she really likes； it is not particularly fancy, but the food is delicious and the atmosphere is “homely”, which she enjoys.
多くの人は花のほかに、チョコレートの箱から高級レストランのディナーに至るまで、おいしいものをプレゼントします。去年、家族は母を、彼女が大好きなハンバーガーダイナーに連れて行きました。特別豪華ではありませんが、食べ物は美味しく、雰囲気が「アットホーム」であることが気に入っています。

Sometimes younger children will give their mother a coupon book. However, instead of offering coupons for stores or restaurants, they will offer chores or activities of some kind, such as “1 free toilet cleaning” or “1 free backrub”. When I was 10 years old, I was inspired to make my mom a coupon book after reading about it in a children’s book. My mom still owns the book and has yet to redeem some coupons； fortunately, I did not write an expiration date.
幼い子供たちが母親にクーポンブックをプレゼントすることがあります。ただし、店舗やレストランのクーポンを提供する代わりに、「トイレ掃除 1 回無料」や「背中こすり 1 回無料」など、何らかの家事やアクティビティを提供します。10歳のとき、児童書でクーポンブックについて読んだことがきっかけで、母にクーポンブックを作ろうと思いつきました。私の母はまだその本を所有しており、まだいくつかのクーポンを引き換えていません。幸いなことに使用期限は書いていませんでした。

My mother is a High School art teacher in Germany. When I was in High School, most students would eat lunch in a large lunchroom. However, my friends and I would eat lunch in the art room every day. We made many wonderful memories in that room； we talked about our lives, made many jokes, and even played games together. I was only able to do that because my mom was willing to host us； I am very thankful that she is my mother.
私の母はドイツの高校の美術教師です。私が高校にいたとき、ほとんどの生徒は広いランチルームで昼食を食べていました。しかし、私と友達は毎日美術室で昼食を食べていました。私たちはその部屋でたくさんの素晴らしい思い出を作りました。私たちは自分たちの人生について話したり、たくさん冗談を言ったり、一緒にゲームをしたりしました。それができたのは、母が喜んで私たちを受け入れてくれたからです。彼女が私の母親であることにとても感謝しています。
