■Fall in Shichikashuku
I hope everyone is enjoying the fall season. I’m having a good time and enjoying the cooler weather. I also hope everyone in Shichikashuku is doing well and continuing to do their best every day.
Where I’m from, fall is a special time. There are many fun activities that people enjoy during this season.
One popular activity is hayrides. A hayride is when people sit on a trailer filled with hay. A tractor or horse pulls the trailer through a farm or countryside. It’s a fun way to enjoy nature and see the autumn leaves.
Another popular activity is visiting corn mazes. These are big mazes made in cornfields. People walk through the paths and try to find the way out. It can be a fun challenge for both kids and adults.
Many people also enjoy carving pumpkins. You take a big orange pumpkin, cut off the top, and scoop out the inside. Then, you carve a face or design on the outside. At night, you can put a candle inside to make it glow.
Thinking about these activities is nostalgic!

■七ヶ宿の秋
みなさん、秋の季節を楽しんでいますか?私は涼しくなった気候を楽しみながら、毎日を気持ちよく過ごしています。七ヶ宿のみなさんも元気に、それぞれの毎日を頑張って過ごしていることと思います。
私の出身地では、秋は特別な季節です。この時期には、人々が楽しむさまざまなアクティビティがあります。
その中でも人気なのが「ヘイライド(干し草の荷台乗り)」です。ヘイライドとは、干し草を積んだトレーラーに乗って、トラクターや馬に引かれながら農場や田舎道を進むというものです。自然を感じながら紅葉を楽しむことができ、とても楽しい体験です。
もうひとつ人気なのが「コーン迷路」です。とうもろこし畑の中に作られた大きな迷路で、人々はその中を歩きながら出口を探します。子供から大人まで楽しめる、少し挑戦的なアクティビティです。
また、多くの人が楽しむのが「パンプキン・カービング(カボチャの彫刻)」です。大きなオレンジ色のカボチャの上部を切り取り、中をくり抜きます。そのあと、外側に顔や模様を彫ります。夜には中にろうそくを入れて灯すと、やわらかい光がカボチャの中からこぼれてとてもきれいです。
こうした秋のアクティビティを思い出すと、とても懐かしい気持ちになります。
