▽Happy Holidays !
I hope everyone had an enjoyable winter holiday. For me and my family, the winter break is a big food holiday! We usually have dinner parties with extended family and friends for a few days around Christmas and also New Year’s Day. So me of the usual foods are turkey, ham, and scalloped potatoes(please google it!).
I always look forward to eating these dishes every year. I hav en’t been home for the winter holidays since moving to Japan so now I just video call my family.
Maybe next year I’ll go back to Canada for the holidays.
It’s nice to see the holiday spirit around Hidaka with illuminations and New Year’s decorations. I even heard that kids got presents for Christmas!

皆さん、冬休みはいかがお過ごしでしたか?楽しい時間を過ごせましたか。私と家族にとって、冬休みは「食」がメインの一大イベントです!クリスマス前後や元日には、親戚や友人が集まって、何日か続けて食事会を開くのが毎年の楽しみです。定番の料理は、ターキー、ハム、そしてスカラップドポテト(ぜひ調べてみてください!)です。
毎年これらの料理を食べるのをとても楽しみにしています。日本に来てから、冬休みに帰国できていないので、今は家族とビデオ通話でお祝いしています。来年は、休暇にカナダへ帰れたらいいなと思っています。
日高村でもイルミネーションやお正月の飾りを見かけて、ホリデーの雰囲気を感じます。子どもたちがクリスマスプレゼントをもらったという話も聞きました!
