◆バレンタインお菓子作り(フォンダン・ショコラ)
2月11日に、バレンタインデー特別お菓子教室を開催しました。
参加者はベルギーの国際交流員アンナと一緒に、フォンダン・ショコラを作りました。レシピは簡単に見えますが、ケーキをとろりとした食感にすることは意外と難しかったです。それでも、子どもから大人までケーキをきれいに仕上げることができました。
ケーキを作りながら、世界のバレンタインデーの祝い方について話しました。インドネシアでは、バレンタインデーがあまり祝われていないことを知っていましたか?その理由は、インドネシアにはイスラム教徒が多く、バレンタインデーがキリスト教に由来する祝日だからです。またベルギーでは、主に女性が男性からプレゼントを受け取ります。プレゼントはチョコレートだけでなく、花束やロマンチックなディナーなども多く見られます。
このフォンダン・ショコラを通じて、大切な人に気持ちを伝え、幸せを感じていただければ幸いです。

On February 11th, we held a special baking class for Valentine’s day. The participants baked chocolate fondants together with the Belgian CIR, Anna. The recipe looks simple at first, but it is actually quite difficult to get the perfect fondant texture. Nevertheless, everyone’s cake turned out very pretty with the decorations.
While baking, we also discussed about the different ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day around the world. Did you know that Valentine’s Day is not widely celebrated in Indonesia? This is because the country has a large Muslim population, and Valentine’s Day has Christian origins. In Belgium, it is mostly men who give presents to women. Other than chocolate, flowers or a romantic dinner are also popular gifts.
