Summer break is over, which means it is time for students to return to school. I hope　students were able to enjoy their time off and relax, and I hope they are refreshed and　ready to jump back into classes. I know I’m excited to continue practicing English with　the students. Here in Japan, the end of summer break marks the beginning of the　school year’s second term. In America, it means the beginning of a brand-new school　year.
In Japan, the school year begins in April and ends in March. This schedule matches　Japan’s fiscal year, along with the start of the spring season. Like the blooming of the　cherry blossoms, the start of a new school year represents new beginnings and new　opportunities.
In America, the school year begins in late August or early September and ends in late　May or early June. This schedule was developed to fit around farming needs. Many　children spend the summer helping their parents on the family farm. Growing up, I　spent many summers helping my parents harvest hay and other crops.
Though Japan and America’s academic calendars differ, both schedules value the　need for an extended summer break, giving students time to rest and recharge.

夏休みが終わり、生徒たちが学校に戻る時間になりました。生徒たちが休みの時間を楽しく過ごし、休息を取ることができ、リフレッシュされ、授業に復帰する準備ができていることを願います。生徒たちと一緒に英語の練習を続けることに興奮しています。ここ日本では、夏休みの終わりが学年の2学期の始まりです。アメリカでは、新しい学年の始まりを意味します。
日本では、学年は4月に始まり、3月に終わります。このスケジュールは、春のシーズンの始まりとともに、日本の会計年度と一致しています。桜の開花と同様に、新しい学年の始まりは新しい始まりと新しい機会を意味します。
アメリカでは、学年は8月下旬か9月上旬に始まり、5月下旬か6月上旬に終わります。このスケジュールは、農業のニーズに合うように開発されました。多くの子供たちが夏を家族農場で両親の手伝いをして過ごします。子どもの時、両親の干し草やその他の作物の収穫を手伝うために多くの夏を過ごしました。
日本とアメリカのアカデミックカレンダーは異なりますが、どちらのスケジュールも夏休みを延長する必要性を重視しており、生徒たちに休息とリフレッシュの時間を与えています。
