Hello, it’s Diego!
On July 12th, we held a beach barbecue farewell party for the ALTs who are leaving Akita this summer. Some are going back to their home countries while others are starting new jobs in a different part of Japan. While bittersweet, I’m grateful that I had the chance to see everyone for one last time. Getting to hear their experiences at the end of their journey allowed me to reflect on my own. Everyone in the ALT community knows that this is a special time in our lives. There are always difficulties with living in a foreign country. Getting help or emotional support from others who are in the same shoes is invaluable. It is easy to forget but we have to allow people to help us to get the help we need.

こんにちは、ディエゴです!
7月12日、この夏で秋田を離れるALTの送別会をビーチで行いました。母国に帰る人もいれば、日本の別の地域で新しい仕事を始める人もいます。ほろ苦いけれど、みんなと最後にもう一度会えたことに感謝しています。旅の終わりに彼らの経験を聞くことで、自分自身を振り返ることができました。ALTコミュニティの誰もが、今が人生の中で特別な時期であることを知っています。外国での生活には常に困難が伴います。同じ境遇の人たちから助けや心の支えを得ることは、とても貴重なことです。困った時にはひとりではどうしようもないということを忘れてはいけません。
