▽Rice Harvest
Recently, it was rice harvesting time and I got the opportunity to watch students do it. These days, there are machines that can d o the planting and harvesting.But, the students did it all by hand! I think it’s a very tough job. You have to stay bent over the whole time cutting the rice plant from the base. I was impressed by the rice harvesting machine because it cuts the plant,separates the grains and then spits out the excess plant. I really wanted to try riding on the machine. It looks fun!

▽稲刈り
最近は稲刈りの季節で、小学校の児童が稲刈りをしている様子を見る機会がありました。今では田植えも稲刈りも機械でできるようになっていますが、学生たちはすべて手作業で行っていました。とても大変な作業だと思います。腰を曲げたまま、稲の根元を一つひとつ刈り取っていかなければなりません。
稲刈り機にも感心しました。稲を刈り取って、穂と茎を分け、余った部分を外に出す仕組みになっているそうです。あの機械に乗ってみたいなと思いました。とても楽しそうでした!
