こんにちは、皆さん。お元気ですか?暖かいお天気を楽しんでいますか?私は窓を開けて家の中に気持ち良い風を通せるようになり、とても嬉しいです。皆さんの庭がまた賑やかになってきて、きれいに咲いている花を見るのが楽しみです!
オーストラリアでは「シュガーフラワー」という砂糖で作る花が人気なのをご存じですか?これは結婚式や誕生日などのお祝いケーキに使われます。生花も使われることがありますが、すぐに枯れてしまいます。シュガーフラワーはずっと残るので、記念品として取っておく人が多いんですよ。
私がパティシエだった頃は、バラ・チューリップ・デイジーなど、いろいろな花を作りました。中でも一番好きだったのは「ラン(オーキッド)」です。ランの花は3つの工程に分けて作ります。形ができた後は、専用の絵の具で色をつけます。繊細な作業ですが、とても楽しかったです。

I have seen many of your gardens returningto life and seeing all the beautiful flowers! Did you know that inAustralia, it is popular to make flowers with sugar? Sugar flowers areused on celebration cakes like weddings and birthdays. Sometimesfresh flowers are used, but they will die quickly. The sugar flowerswill last forever, so people like to keep them as mementos. When Iwas a patissier, I made many different types, like roses, tulips anddaisies. But my favourite flower to make is orchids. The orchid mustbe made in three distinct stages. After the flower is set, I used aspecial paint to add colour.
