Hello everyone! This is your ALT Conner!
みなさん、こんにちは。ALTのコナーです。

I hope everyone has had a good September. By the time this article is published, I will have just returned from a trip to Tokyo. Every year in September, there is an expo event called Tokyo Game Show, or TGS. It is　one of the largest expos for video games in the world, and this year will be my third time attending. I want to tell you about my personal experience with TGS.
皆様、良い9月をお過ごしでしょうか。この記事が公開される頃には、ちょうど東京旅行から戻ってきたところです。毎年9月には、東京ゲームショウ(TGS)というイベントが開催されます。世界最大級のビデオゲームの展示会の一つで、私は今年で3回目の参加となります。今回はTGSでの体験をお伝えしたいと思います。

As it is one of the biggest events for video games worldwide, many of the biggest game companies attend the show. They host spaces filled with giant statues and elaborate decorations themed after the games they showcase； I imagine they spend a lot of money on the show. However, when I visit TGS, I don’t spend
much time in these areas.
世界最大級のビデオゲームイベントの一つであるTGSには、大手ゲーム会社が多数出展します。出展タイトルをテーマにした巨大な像や精巧な装飾で埋め尽くされた広大なスペースが用意されており、きっと多額の費用が投入されているのでしょう。しかし、私はTGSを訪れても、これらのスペースではあまり時間を過ごしません。

In a small section of the smallest hall in the venue, there is an area dedicated to “Indie Games”. These are games developed by “independent game developers” with teams originating from all around the world. I got to meet developers from Japan, France, Germany, America, and even Chile! Some teams were 20 people strong； other teams were only 2 people. I even saw games developed by a single person!
会場内で一番小さなホールの一角に、「インディーゲーム」専用のエリアがあります。これは、世界中から集まった「独立系ゲーム開発者」によって開発されたゲームです。日本、フランス、ドイツ、アメリカ、そしてチリ出身の開発者たちに会うことができました!20人規模のチームで開発されたゲームもあれば、2人規模のチームで開発されたゲームもありました。中には、たった一人で開発されたゲームも見かけました!

I am a big fan of video games, but “Indie Games” in particular are an inspiration to me. They show me how small groups of people can make great things together that can leave an impact, even outside of where they live. Someday, I hope to make great things too； wherever I will be in the future, I hope it will still reach Aomori and Imabetsu.
私はビデオゲームの大ファンですが、特に「インディーゲーム」は私にとってインスピレーションの源です。少人数のグループが協力して素晴らしいものを作り、それが自分たちの住む場所を越えて人々に影響を与えることができることを教えてくれます。いつか私も素晴らしいものを作りたいと思っています。そして、将来どこにいても、その作品が青森県や今別町に届くことを願っています。
