■Spooky Halloween(不気味なハロウィン)

Dear Showa Village Residents, The cool breeze of fall is finally here—what a relief! Personally, I’m happy to say goodbye to my spot cooler and (hopefully) save a bit on electricity.
It’s the perfect season for hikes and enjoying the crisp autumn air. In the West, October isn’t just about cooler temperatures, it’s also when Halloween takes over!
Decorations pop up everywhere： houses, shops, even nail salons transform with spooky vibes. I once went to get my nails done and barely recognized the place. It felt like I’d stepped into a Halloween movie set!
While most people wear costumes only on Halloween day, there are always a few who go all out, dressing up in different spooky outfits all month long. Some even switch up their hairstyles and makeup to match the theme!
My favorite Halloween memory was when I was 11. My mom, brother, and I visited a neighborhood famous for its over-the-top decorations. The houses were incredible, with eerie lights, sound effects, and even indoor haunted house setups where you had to dodge zombies and mummies to find candy. That year, I dressed up as a witch and went home with threefull bags of candy, chips, and chocolate!

昭和村の皆さん、ようやく秋の涼しい風が吹いてきましたね。ほっと一安心ですね!個人的には、スポットクーラーとお別れできて(おそらく)電気代が少し節約できるのが嬉しいです。
この時期はハイキングやさわやかな秋の空気を楽しむのに最適な季節です。西洋では、10月は単に気温が下がるだけでなく、ハロウィンの季節でもあります!
あらゆるところに装飾が施され、家、お店、ネイルサロンまでもが不気味な雰囲気に変わります。以前ネイルサロンに行ったのですが、その場所がネイルサロンだとはほとんど分かりませんでした。まるでハロウィンの映画のセットに足を踏み入れたような気分でした!ハロウィンの日にだけ仮装する人がほとんどですが、1ヶ月間ずっとさまざまな不気味な衣装に身を包み、徹底的に楽しむ人も必ず何人かはいます。テーマに合わせて髪型やメイクを変える人もいます!
私の一番好きなハロウィンの思い出は、11歳のときのことです。母と弟と私は、派手な飾り付けで有名な近くの街を訪れました。家々は信じられないほど素晴らしく、不気味な照明や音響効果、さらには屋内に設置されたお化け屋敷まであり、ゾンビやミイラをかわしながらお菓子を探さなければなりませんでした。その年、私は魔女に仮装してお菓子やポテトチップス、チョコレートでいっぱいの袋を3つも持って帰りました!
