今月のキーフレーズ
‘‘ oil midnight the Burn’’
このフレーズは、夜遅くまで勉強したり仕事をしたりすることを意味します。
由来：昔、電気がなかった時代に、油のランプ(oil lamp)を使って夜遅くまで作業をしていたことから生まれた表現です。

Mina：Are you still awake?
Ken：Yeah, I’m burning the midnight oil to finish my essay.
ミナ： まだ起きてるの?
ケン： うん、エッセイを終わらせるために夜遅くまで頑張ってるんだ。

Yuki：You stayed up late again?
Taro：I had to burn the midnight oil for tomorrow’s exam.
ユキ： また夜更かししたの?
タロウ： 明日の試験のために夜遅くまで頑張らなきゃいけなかったんだ。
