▽Fall Foliage
What are some things that come to mind when you think of fall in Japan?
For me, it’s pears, persimmons, cold nights but warm days, but of course the number 1 thing is the leaves changing colours.
During the Labor Thanksgiving long weekend, I went to Kyoto to see the fall foliage. It was great timing
because the leaves were right around their peak.
I went to Rurikoin and Toji. Toji’s famous pagoda looked beautiful with all the changing colours around it. The pagoda is definitely “shibui” so all the different colours were a nice contrast.
Did you go out to see the fall foliage? What are some great spots in Kochi?

日本の秋といえば、皆さんは何を思い浮かべますか。
僕にとっては、梨や柿、日中は暖かいのに夜は冷えること、そしてもちろん一番は紅葉です。
勤労感謝の日の連休に、紅葉を見に京都へ行ってきました。ちょうど葉が見頃で、タイミングはばっちりでした。
瑠璃光院や東寺を訪れたのですが、特に東寺の五重塔は、周りの色づいた木々に囲まれてとても美しかったです。五重塔の「渋い」雰囲気と、鮮やかな紅葉の色の対比が本当に印象的でした。
皆さんは今年、紅葉狩りに出かけましたか。高知にはどんなおすすめスポットがありますか?
