このコーナーでは、松野町のALT(外国語指導助手)の母国の文化や、松野町での日常などを紹介しています。今回はニッキ先生が「森の国の夏祭り：鬼城太鼓との出会い」についてお話しします。

[Morinokuni Summer Festival ： Meeting Kijou Daiko]
My first impression of Matsuno was at the 2023 Summer Festival. I remember sitting on the grass watching the stage show before the fireworks started. Every piece was amazing, and every performer was incredibly talented! Then, Kijou Daiko came onstage with a serious look on their face. From the first drum beat, they held the entire audience’s attention, and I was deeply moved by the flowing, powerful, and unified performance. Afterwards, Kate looked at me and said, “Maybe we could play too? Let’s ask!”
Two years later, we’re now part of the team! This year’s summer festival was so much fun! It was my second time playing taiko at Matsuno Town’s summer festival, and my first time in Japan spinning fire in front of an audience! In any way, performing with them was a joy and honor that I will never forget. It can also be for you, the readers!
Every week at the Matsuno Community Center (Wednesdays at 7pm), Kijou Daiko members continuously hone their skills and stage presence, and new participants are always welcome if you’d like to give taiko a try!

松野の第一印象は、2023年の夏祭りでした。花火が始まる前の芝生に座ってステージショーを見ていたのを覚えています。どの演目も素晴らしく、どのパフォーマーも才能豊かでした!そして、鬼城太鼓が真剣な表情でステージに登場しました。太鼓の最初の一打から観客全員の視線を釘付けにし、全員が一体となって流れるような力強さと一体感にとても感動しました。その後、ケイトが私の方を見て、「私たちも演奏してもいいかな、頼んでみよう!」と言いました。
2年経って、私たちもチームの一員になりました!今年の夏祭りは本当に楽しかったです!太鼓を演奏するのは松野町の夏祭りで2回目、そして日本で初めて観客の前でファイヤーパフォーマンスをすることができました!どんな形であれ、彼らと共演できたことは、私にとって一生忘れられない喜びであり、光栄です。そして、読者の皆さんもそれができます!
毎週、松野町コミュニティセンター(水曜日の午後7時)では、鬼城太鼓のメンバーが技量とステージでの存在感を絶えず磨いています。太鼓に挑戦してみたいという方は、いつでも新しい参加者を歓迎します。
